Conference Reception

The conference reception takes place on the first day (May 26) after the workshops and PhD symposium ended. This year, the reception will be splitted into two parts. The first part takes place in the “Staatliches Naturhistorisches Museum” (directly adjacent to the conference venue) and includes a welcome and showcase. For the second part, we plan out a get-together either in the lobby of the Haus der Wissenschaft or in front of the building with German beer and snacks. The first part is set to start at 6pm, the second part will start at 7pm.

Please check-in at the reception desk in Haus der Wissenschaft before attending the reception. We will staff the reception desk for most of the day so late check-in is possible for those arriving on that day. As a reminder, please be aware that only registrations for the whole conference (i.e., MainConf+WS tickets) are eligable for attending the conference reception!

Conference Dinner

The conference dinner is hosted by the city of Braunschweig as part of a town reception (“Städtischer Empfang”) and will take place in the main hall of the Old Town Hall, colloquially known as “Dornse”. As part of the dinner, city mayor Anke Kaphammel and TU Braunschweig’s president Prof. Angela Ittel will join us for a welcome address.

The Old Town Hall is a medieval building whose oldest parts can be dated back to the 13th century. In the old days, it used to be a meeting place for the Old Town Council. It contains the historical Dornse, the biggest hall in the building, which is also used for festivities, as it will be the case for the dinner.

The dinner starts at 19:00, please arrive between 18:30 and 19:00. Public transport needs about 15min from the conference venue to the Old Town Council, more information how to reach it will follow soon.
